Headlined by a lackluster rematch between Marvin Vettori and Roman Dolidze, there was a major lack of buzz around the event. During the card, several media members raised concerns about the Apex and the lack of atmosphere at the events taking place there. In response on fight night, the UFC’s X account poked fun at fans who complained about the small venue.

Renato Moicano has shared why he won’t be the one fighting Justin Gaethje at UFC 313 on Saturday. When Dan Hooker suffered a hand injury, the UFC brass needed to find a replacement opponent for “The Highlight.” Ultimately, Rafael Fiziev was given the call to take the fight and he accepted. Gaethje recently claimed that the likes of Moicano “understandably” turned down the short notice fight.

As we know, Renato Moicano is a pretty interesting figure within the UFC’s lightweight division. Following a good run of form, his most recent outing saw him battle it out with Islam Makhachev on incredibly short notice. The UFC lightweight championship was on the line, but unfortunately for Renato, he wasn’t able to overcome the unbelievable strength and overall ability of the champion.

Fresh off a stoppage victory over Benoit Saint-Denis in September, Renato Moicano was initially set to meet Beneil Dariush on Saturday. However, due to an injury to Arman Tsarukyan, the Brazilian has now been bumped to the main event.

UFC lightweight contenders Beneil Dariush and Renato Moicano will collide in January. The 35-year-old hasn’t been seen in the cage since a clash with Arman Tsarukyan last December. That bout saw Beneil Dariush get knocked out in his second straight fight, previously being finished by Charles Oliveira in June. Due to concerns about his brain health, the lightweight contender decided to take a yearlong hiatus.

Moicano and Pimblett have taken shots at one another in the past and many fans were hoping it would lead to them fighting each other. Both are massive fan-favorites, but after Moicano beat Benoit Saint-Denis in a dominating fashion the Brazilian doesn’t think the UFC will give him that fight.

Former UFC veteran Chael Sonnen shared his belief that Moicano vs. Gaethje is a no brainer. UFC CEO Dana White said the promotion won’t be speaking to Moicano about his next fight until he heals from a shoulder injury.

Allen felt the headache was suspicious given that both he and Moicano were facing French fighters.
